 The McCarthy Associates Group was founded in 1991 by Julie A. McCarthy, IIDA and John B. (Jack) McCarthy. The McCarthy Associates Group offers consulting in interior design for Independent Living for those who wish to remain safely in their homes, Continuing Care Retirement Communities, Assisted Living Facilities, and Skilled Nursing Facilities. We also provide consulting for manufacturers of products for Senior Living facilities.The firm is based in New Hampshire and operates in the New England and Mid Atlantic States.
 Julie A. McCarthy (Julie), Interior Designer, IIDA Julie holds a degree in Interior Design from the University of Central Oklahoma and a Certificate in Geriatric Health Care Design from NYU. She has practiced Interior Design since 1975 and has been published nationally and internationally. In 1994 Julie was the only Interior Designer appointed to a federally funded panel at Monmouth University studying the socio-economic effects of ageism. Julie has broad experience in Health Care and Hospitality design and specializes in design for dementia diseases. Although Julie's past work encompasses all fields, her primary work is in the field of geriatric healthcare. When not designing, Julie is an avid sailor and horsewoman, sings opera and baroque music, cycles, hikes and is always looking for a challenge. email: julie@themccarthyassociates.com John B. McCarthy (Jack), Consultant Prior to the formation of The McCarthy Associates Group, Jack directed sales, marketing and product development for several major textile companies including Burlington Ind. and Dan River Mills. Jack has broad experience in finding and developing 'problem solving' products, and planning and developing budgets for overall furniture requirements for refurbish and new construction projects. Jack's approach to helping a client is to listen carefully, analyze problems, and offer honest solutions in the best interest of the client and the people the client serves. Jack has the know-how and ability to get new "problem solving" products in front of top executives (the decision makers) in the senior healthcare industry in New England and the Middle Atlantic areas. Kerry McCarthy (Kerry) is our licensed Therapy Dog and is certified by Therapy Dogs International. Kerry's characteristics include soft ears, a cold nose, a perpetually wagging tail and a very gentle manner. Kerry visits Pediatric Units and Long Term Care facilities and brings joy to everyone she visits. Kerry is now 10 years old and semi-retired but still enjoys the occasional trip to a hospital or home for the elderly. If you would like a visit from a Therapy Dog contact Julie or Jack. Erin McCarthy (Erin) is our Therapy Dog in training. She is very intelligent and her natural disposition makes her ideal for her future work. Erin loves everyone, particularly children. Her size allows petting and fondling without bending over which is great for seniors. Each of the players on our team share a common denominator- we all care about people and our goal is to make and keep you a satisfied customer, Over the years our customers become part of our team because they come back to us for additional services and recommend us to others. |
